Ohh good one! For me it was the new found freedom to explore new places and ways to be active... I had trained for hockey in one place (somewhere cold), and on the same schedule for so long that retiring and being free to go explore the world and see places like Hawaii was a brilliant eye opening experience to the possibilities that lay ahead of me.
While being a current athlete do you think its good to think about what you will do after competing or do think that ... have one foot on the plane so to speak?
Any retired athletes have some active-related goals for 2021? I have a 1/2 marathon coming up in Feb and a series ... coming up this summer as a fundraiser.
For all those out there who retired with college graduation, do you ever feel hesitant to reach out to the underclassmen ... to be that alumnus who can't move on.
